Today marks day ONE in a week of festivities!
In the lead up to Ben's birthday, we decided that we needed a good ol' party thread.

So here it is!

Feel free to put on your sombrero's, down a couple of Tequila shots and have a go at the pinata!
For today is MEXICAN day!!

Las Mañanitas is a traditional Mexican song that is sung on birthdays and other important holidays. It is often sung as an early morning serenade to wake up a loved one. At birthday parties it is sung before the cake is cut.

Hello Ben and Jelenbeans!! Well as far as something to bring to the celebration I bought two things. One is a counter marking down the days to Ben’s 29th birthday. The other is the book Big Friendly Giant – maybe Ben will read it to us at the party!! I really wish we could all get together and celebrate your birthday.

So Ben what are your plans for your birthday and what would you like to get as a gift? I am sure that Fern will get you something that you will love. Ben what has been your favorite memory of this past year? I know that is so hard to chose because I am sure hope there is more than good memory from this year. I also want to know what everyone’s favorite birthday memories are – that includes you Ben. I am sure there will be some good stories. Let the celebration continue!!

Okay as I look back on the start of this post I now realize that there is a Mexican theme going on here. I just realized that the BFG was written by a person from England - wow where was my brain at when I did this!!

So in order to redeem myself I am going to add something from the right nationality to this post - better late than never!! Hands Ben pinata stick - go ahead Ben give it a good hit - see how strong you are!!





Now to entice you to hit it I have put the following candies in there - they may not be the candy they put in a pinata but hey whatever it takes to get you to take a swing. So here is the candy besides it is your birthday you can have whatever kind of candy you want!! I know that the cadbury mini eggs are your favorite and of course I threw in some jellybeans I mean jelenbeans. Okay Ben I will wait while you hit the pinata and I won't fight you for the candy!!

We can't have a Mexican day without.....
